Seal rescued from Tankerton beach near Whitstable by BDMLR sea life medics

A poorly seal has been rescued from a Whitstable beach by marine mammal medics.

The small pup was found stranded on the beach at Tankerton on Saturday morning.

Medics from charity British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) attended the scene.

The seal was taken to RSPCA Mallydams Wood in Hastings, where it is being treated for a chest infection and worms.

Passers-by helped the medics care for the helpless animal.

BDMLR volunteer Sheila Stone said: "Many thanks to Sophie who called it in and stayed with it. Special thanks to Colin who helped clean up the cage.
