The Human League and Soft Cell’s Marc Almond to perform at Dreamland in Margate

The group are best known for their 1981 single Don’t You Want Me, which topped the chart and became a Christmas No. 1.

Original band members Joanne Catherall, Phil Oakey and Susan Ann Sulley will be celebrating more than 40 years in the music business with the open-air concert, which will take place in the 4,000 capacity venue.

The band, who also have hits such as Mirror Man, Fascination and Human under their belts, are the latest in a string of big name artists to perform at the vintage fairground this summer.

The seafront venue has already seen performances from the likes of McFly, Queens of the Stone Age and N-Dubz over the past few weeks.

Tom Jones, UB40, Primal Scream and Olly Murs are among the musicians who are still yet to perform at Dreamland in the coming months.

The Human League will be supported at their Kent gig by Marc Almond.

The singer, best known for being one half of duo Soft Cell, will be performing the biggest hits from his back catalogue, including chart-topping single Tainted Love.

His performance with the Human League comes shortly after Soft Cell’s headline show at the Rochester Castle Concerts earlier this month.
