Tunbridge Wells to have two Christmas light switch ons hosted by kmfm and BID

This year there will be not one, but two, switch on events in one town.

Tunbridge Wells is embracing the Christmas spirit by hosting multiple events throughout tomorrow.

kmfm's Alex West will be switching on the lights in the town centre, organised by The Royal Tunbridge Wells Together Business Improvement District (BID).

It all kicks off at Chapel Place, between 2pm and 4.30pm.

There will be festive classics sung by carol singers from King Charles the Martyr church, as well as free hot food and drink.

Giveaways including free gift guides, colouring books and illustrated Christmas cards will be handed out.

At 4pm, Alex will switch on the the lights with the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells.

The second event – Party on The Pantiles – will start at 8pm, with the switch on taking place at 8.30pm.

It welcomes live music from Miss Holiday Swing, character appearances from the hit movie "Elf", Jack in the Beanstalk panto stars and lots more.

In-between the two switch ons, residents can enjoy some window spotting and vote for their favourite festive window display as part of The Pantiles' Big Reveal.

The remainder of the town centre’s Christmas lights will come on overnight on Saturday.
