Archie Norman to quit at next election

THE Tory MP for Tunbridge Wells, Archie Norman, has announced that he will not stand at the next general election.

Mr Norman has told the party leader Michael Howard that he intends to pursue other interests.

Mr Norman, who is married with one daughter, has been MP for Tunbridge Wells since 1997. At one time he was boss of the Asda supermarket chain.
