A van was overturned in a smash up during rush hour traffic prompting a road closure.

The crash happened between between a van and two cars at about 9am this morning on College Road, Margate.

Pictures have emerged showing the vehicle on its side, with first responers working at the scene.

Traffic information site Inrix reported heavy queues in both directions, with many motorists returning from the school run.

The road was closed in both directions from A255 St Peter's Road to Upper Dane Road while emergency services worked at the scene, but has since reopened.

A police spokesman said there were no serious injuries, adding: “(We) were called to a report of a collision involving a van and parked vehicles in College Road, Margate at 8.30am on Tuesday 13 June 2023.

“Officers attended and assisted with traffic management and the recovery of the vehicles involved.”
