Police have charged and named a man accused of a sexually assaulting a teenage girl in a Thanet park.

Steven Palmer, of Sussex Avenue, Margate, is charged with one count of sexual assault by touching and one count of assault after the alleged attack in Dane Park, Margate shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 7.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the scene and a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

"The 44-year-old, from Margate, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Friday December 9 and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on January 9 2023."
