Tweetie Pie, Daffy Duck and a giant teddy bear will float through the skies above Margate this weekend.

The town hosts its fourth annual International Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday, with enthusiasts from across Europe set to descend on the Main Sands.

As well as enormous inflatables, display teams will be performing intricate routines in front of an expected crowd of thousands.

Kite traders and other stalls will line the main arena.

Gill Bloom, of the Kite Society of Great Britain, said: "Margate International Kite Festival is gaining a fantastic reputation amongst kite flyers both at home and abroad. It's always a well organised event at a great seafront location."

Margate International Kite Festival takes place from 10am-5pm on both days and admission is free. For more information, visit www.margatekitefestival.org.uk or call Margate Town Partnership on 07818 533022.
