Police and ambulance crews called after man hit by car in Newington Road, Ramsgate

A man suffered a head injury when he was hit by a car this afternoon.

The victim, aged in his 60s, was knocked down in Newington Road in Ramsgate just after 4pm

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene of the accident, which happened near the junction with Queens Avenue.

It is thought the man was hit by a car travelling at low speed, which caused him to fall to the ground.

He hit his head in the fall and was unconscious when emergency crews arrived.

Medics treated him at the scene before taking him to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
