Man airlifted to hospital after reportedly falling from Broadstairs roof

A workman is understood to have been airlifted to hospital after falling from a rooftop.

The man is said to have been working on a property in the Beacon Road area of Broadstairs when the accident happened shortly before 10am.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene, along with paramedics in a road ambulance.

The ambulance service was not able to provide further details on the call as it was to a private address.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the air ambulance land.

One man said: "A helicopter flew over Reading Street just now about 30ft above the houses, then landed in the farmers field on Reading Street Road.

"Saw a load of dust get kicked up by the rotors. Air ambulance I assume? I hope everything is okay."
