Fire crews tackle straw blaze at Monkton

Fire crews are fighting a blaze which has set 200 tonnes of straw bales alight.

Two fire engines have been on the scene at Canterbury Road West in Monkton near Ramsgate since around 10pm last night.

The fire is being allowed to burn out under the supervision of crews and measures put in to protect the surrounding crop.
