Police help set up youth club set up in Sittingbourne

A donation from police has helped set up a youth club in Sittingbourne.

The cash was taken from the force’s property fund, which is generated from the sale of unclaimed lost property and items seized during operations.

PCSO Daniel Rudden, who patrols the town’s St Michael’s ward, secured £500 to run the 10-week programme for 13 to 17-year-olds in the area.

He said: “I am delighted the property fund has been able to support the club.

“It is a great opportunity for young people to make new friends, play games and have somewhere to go on a Friday evening. It is now open and free to attend.”

The club is held every Friday at Phoenix House, Central Avenue, from 7-10pm.

The last session will be held on Friday, September 18, although there will be three further sessions on October 23 and 30 and 6 November.
