A grieving couple have raised more than £600 in memory of their daughter.

Mark-Antony Jones and Lucy-Rae Tamulevicius held the event at the Heights of Alma pub in Sheerness on Saturday.

The day was to raise money for The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID) in memory of their four-month-old daughter Xara-Mae.

Xara-Mae died of cot death at the couple's home in Chapel Mews, off Alma Street, Sheerness, on July 29.

At the fundraiser, there was a 12-hour darts marathon, a raffle, a sponsored chest waxing and a slave auction as well as a collection bucket.

Mark-Antony's brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Kei Jones, who are ballet dancers for the English National Ballet company, also came to support the day.

Xara-Mae's funeral took place near Stoke-on-Trent on August 19 and Mark-Antony sang Dance with my Father Again.

Mark-Antony, 30, said they couldn't believe how many people went to the funeral and they even had people they didn't know but who had lost their own children to cot death turn up.

He added: "The fundraiser was extremely emotional but very enjoyable as everyone gave us so much love and support.

"We are overwhelmed by the amount of money raised.

"I would like to thank everyone for making it a really enjoyable day."
