Man's body found in park

THE body of a man has been found in a car at Barton’s Point Coastal Park in Sheerness.

Police were called to the park, off Marine Parade, at around 7am this morning by a member of the public.

Detectives discovered the body of man in his 30s or 40s inside a D-registration red Ford Escort.

His body was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

Det Insp Mick Costello confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and said the car may have been at the scene for several hours.
