Man impaled on spike at Ridham Dock

A man was airlifted to hospital after being impaled on a metal spike.

Firefighters were also called to the scene of the incident at Ridham Dock at Iwade, near Sittingbourne at around 3.50pm Monday.

According to a spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue, a six-millimetre thick iron rod had become lodged in the victim's back.

His condition is not yet known.
