A young man has been injured in an attempted robbery in Halfway last night.

The 20-year-old suffered cuts to his chest and forearms after the attack just before 6pm on the footpath leading to Sheerness Golf Club, in Power Station Road.

Kent Police said the local man was walking along the footpath towards Sheerness when he was approached by three people.

One of the offenders - who had what is believed to be a small knife - demanded the victim's wallet and phone.

When he refused, he was attacked before the offenders ran off in the direction of the golf club.

The main offender has been described as a thin white man, about 5ft 2ins and wearing a black hooded top, white scarf and white trainers.

Another youngster was about 5ft 6ins, of medium build and wearing a blue hooded top.

The third offender was wearing a black hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms. The sex of these two offenders is not yet known.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone police on 101 - quoting reference XY/11001/13 - or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
