Firefighters kept busy

Two separate incidents were attended by Sheppey firefighters within five hours on Saturday.

At 4.30pm they dealt with a chimney blaze in Scarborough Drive, Minster caused by an open fire.

Then at 9.25pm they went to Ravelin House, Royal Road, Sheerness where a man was locked inside his flat.

He could not get out due to the door's deadlock mechanism so passed the keys to firefighters outside so they could open it.
