Dynamos sign new netminder

Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish has signed Elite League netminder Joe White in an attempt to shake his players from their faltering league form.

The 20-year-old will go straight between the pipes for Invicta’s double-header weekend against Peterborough and Oxford, in a move Parrish hopes will send a message to the rest of his squad.

“We need to start making a challenge at the top of the table and I felt a change was needed,” said Parrish. “Joe became available because of the financial problems at Basingstoke and I couldn’t let a keeper of his quality sign for anybody else. His puck control is excellent, he has quick lateral movement and he’s talkative on the ice.

“He agreed terms last Thursday, came to training on Tuesday and as long as his registration goes through on time, he’ll be thrown in at the deep end this weekend.

“This weekend is a massive one for us. I’m confident that we can take four points from the two games.”

AJ Smith (work) and Damien Welch (holiday) will be missing this weekend and Laurence Billing (groin) could also be sidelined. Glen Jackson will be back-up to White.
