Woman still fighting for her life after Strood crash

A woman is still fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Strood.

The pedestrian, believed to be a mum of four, suffered serious head injuries when she was struck by a red Seat Ibiza in Frindsbury Road on Sunday evening.

The crash happened at about 8.40pm at the junction with Mill Road.

Two ambulances, a rapid response car and the air ambulance was sent to the scene.

Doctors spent an hour and 45 minutes treating the woman, thought to be in her forties, before she was taken to the Royal London Hospital by land ambulance.

Police described the woman as being in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
