Medway City Estate: Teenager rider killed after colliding with a lorry on industrial estate in Strood

A teenager has died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a lorry on a Strood industrial estate.

The crash between the Yamaha 125 motorcycle and a Volvo heavy goods vehicle happened just after 9pm last night on Anthony's Way, Medway City Estate.

The 17-year-old local man died at the scene. His family have been informed.

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle, a 44-year-old man from Wiltshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He was later released on bail until February 15, 2017, pending further investigation.

The road was closed for a number of hours while police carried out investigations.

Two weeks ago, 15 bystanders were injured when a Mini crashed into a group of people on Medway City Estate.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw either of the two vehicles in the moments leading up to the collision.
