Six Medway police officers to cycle 85 miles in aid of Demelza Children's Hospice

Six Medway police officers will complete a marathon bike ride for charity today (Sunday).

PCs Adam Stent, Warren Trabucchi, Tony Horn, Dave Hill, Julia Upton and Keith Rice will take on an 85-mile route to raise money for Demelza Children’s Hospice.

PC Stent designed the route, which starts at Belvedere in South East London and then heads to Richmond Park for the first 30 miles.

The group will then join the official London to Windsor cycling event for the remaining 55 miles.

Their colleague PC Lynda Edwicker will drive the support vehicle for the team.

PC Stent said: "I've been planning this for about two months - none of us have ever taken on such high mileage before.

"Demelza is a brilliant local charity and I don't think we could be cycling for a better cause.

"Regal Van Hire at Chatham Docks was kind enough to lend us a van free of charge for the day, which was very generous."
