Veteran drummer Paul Cheshire-Dance wants to play along to kmfm for six hours non-stop in aid of Comic Relief.

The 65-year-old is planning to put a backbeat to our radio station at the Parkwood Community Association in Parkwood Green, Rainham.

The grandfather-of-three, who has been picking up sticks for 40 years and lives with his wife Marilyn in Old Castle Walk, Parkwood, said: “She thinks I’m mad.

"We listen to kmfm all the time. It’s all pretty good standard pop and chart stuff and it’s easy for me to have something to play along to.

“I will have to take the odd break and use a CD when the news is on, but I should be able to go for six hours.”

His session, from 2pm on Saturday, will be followed by a free set by his reggae band Mood Reaction. All are welcome.

To donate, call the community association on 01634 371886.
