Police release four after brawl

FOUR of the six men arrested after a violent brawl near Chatham town centre on Saturday night have now been released.

The six, believed to be Eastern Europeans, were arrested after a fight in Hillside Road, just off Chatham High Street.

One man was taken to hospital with a knife wound to his wrist after the fight.

Police said they had released the four through lack of evidence. The two others, including a 17-year-old, were still being questioned today.

The fight started at about 7pm and a number of police were sent to break it up and make arrests.

A police spokesman said: "There was a heavy police presence to deter other people from getting involved but also to arrest those causing the trouble.

"Some of them came with sticks and one man had to have stitches in his arm for a knife wound."
