A Muslim convert described as "a dangerous individual" will be sentenced today for plotting to kill hundreds of people outside a Disney store on London's Oxford Street.

Lewis Ludlow was arrested after police searched his home in Warren Wood Road last April.

The 26 year-old planned to hire a van and run down pedestrians on Oxford Street, and researched other targets including Madame Tussaud's and St Paul's Cathedral.

He then wrote down his intentions in a letter, which was found ripped up in a bin.

He swore allegiance to Islamic State as he plotted to mow down shoppers in March.

Ludlow had been charged with two counts of engaging in conduct in preparation for acts of terrorism.

That is contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He also faced one count of arranging funds or property for the purposes of terrorism contrary to Section 17 of the Terrorism Act.

In August, he pleaded guilty to one act of terrorism and the other act of terrorism is to remain on file.

He also pleaded guilty to the count of arranging funds for terrorism.

Sentencing at the Old Bailey could last a few days.
