Ex-train driver Danny Lampon jailed after being found with 'sadistic' video and clips of sex with dogs and chickens

A former train driver has been jailed after he was caught with a graphic video showing “torture of an extreme sadistic nature” on his mobile phone.

Danny Lampon also had illegal clips of bestiality showing adults having sex with horses, dogs and chickens.

A judge watched videos on a laptop computer provided by a police officer and insisted that the sound be turned on for one in particular.

It featured a man lying on his back with a wooden board on top of him and a woman in high heels stamping on his private parts.

“His hands are shackled,” said prosecutor Richard Elliott. “He raises them in clenched fists showing pain.”

Muffled shouts and screams could be heard in the clip lasting about one minute.

Maidstone Crown Court heard the other videos included a woman having sex with a horse, sexual activity with a chicken and a female dwarf having sex with a dog.

Mr Elliott said police found the perverted material after seizing 41-year-old Lampon’s phone on May 22 last year.

“There is nothing to suggest that he acknowledged the videos or sent any response, or shared it with anybody else,” he said.

“The images were in a folder, suggesting they had been sent on WhatsApp. It can’t be said if it was downloaded automatically or if he clicked on a WhatsApp picture.”

Lampon, of Rochester Avenue, Rochester, told police he had been sent the videos and had not asked for them. He said he did not normally delete anything from his phone.

“He said he felt embarrassed they were on his phone,” said Mr Elliott. “He said it was absolutely disgusting and he would not download such items.”

He admitted seven offences of possessing extreme pornography, the sadistic one said to involve an act “likely to result in serious injury”.

Paul Lamb, defending, said Lampon ended his career as a train driver in 2013 after there were two fatalities on the line. It led to extreme difficulties and counselling was not effective.

He drank excessively. He had since worked in the building trade. He received the video clips “doing the rounds” from people he worked with.

“He accepts he viewed the images,” said Mr Lamb. “He thought it was a sick joke and simply dismissed them. What he didn’t do is immediately delete them. He accepts possession of them.

“He asserts he simply dismissed them and forgot about them. He is absolutely disgusted by the content.”

The father-of-two had in the last year managed to “carve out a life which assisted in his rehabilitation from the trauma he had”.

“The impact of a custodial sentence would be quite profound on him,” added Mr Lamb.”

"The moving image of torture is of an extreme sadistic nature. It is indescribably unpleasant. There are movies showing degradation of a number of animals – horses, dogs and poultry" - Judge Charles Macdonald

Jailing Lampon for four months and two weeks, Judge Charles Macdonald QC accepted the images were “possibly automatically stored” and not solicited or shared. Lampon kept them for 10 days.

“The moving image of torture is of an extreme sadistic nature,” he said. “It is indescribably unpleasant. There are movies showing degradation of a number of animals – horses, dogs and poultry. They are all deeply unpleasant.

“You have worked sometimes in difficult circumstances. You have a poor history of non-compliance with court orders. The prospects of rehabilitation are fair given the immediate risk of recidivism.

“While there is some personal mitigation here it is not very strong. My conclusion is proper punishment can only be achieved by immediate custody.”

Lampon will not be required to sign on the sex offenders’ register.
