TWO men have been jailed for a total of 13 years for supplying crack cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value in excess of £100,000.

Oliver Coates, 35, of Hatfield Road, Rochester, was sentenced to nine years in prison and 37-year-old Michael Simpson, of Caulkers House, Shipwrights Avenue, Chatham, to four years after admitting the charges at Maidstone Crown Court.

The men were arrested in Cuxton in June 2005.

Det Supt Chris Hogben said: "The sentences handed out reflects the severity of the courts view in these matters and comes as a major success for Kent Police.

"Heroin and crack are a key driver of crime, in particular, thefts and burglaries and will relentlessly pursue those who deal in the death and misery caused by drugs."
