Clubbing events especially for adults with learning disabilities are being launched in Gillingham next week.

Grace Allen, 21, set up G.Beatz Nightclub after being inspired by her foster brother, Steven. The 19-year-old has foetal alcohol syndrome and struggles to find places to go as he's worried he would not fit in.

The pair have planned a series of events at The Factory bar at Priestfield Stadium
on the second and fourth Monday of every month for people with all types of learning disabilities.

With experience in organising charity events combined with her events management degree, Grace said she is confident that the disco will be a success and she has already had lots of interest.

She said: “We’ve had great interest in G.Beatz. I am excited for this event to finally give those with disabilities a better chance to socialise and enjoy this aspect of life. I am confident it will be a huge success.”

There has been overwhelming support so far, with more than 300 likes on the club’s Facebook page already.

G.Beatz opens on Monday, August 8 and the disco runs from 6.30pm until 10pm with food being served until 8pm.

It is for over-18s only and costs £5 per person to attend, and any carers will get a free soft drink with their entry fee.
