Three teenagers arrested after two girls reportedly raped on stairwell near Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of raping two girls on a stairwell near a shopping centre.

The alleged attacks are said to have happened at a car park next to the Pentagon Shopping Centre in Chatham on Sunday, March 18 and Monday, March 19.

Two boys aged 16 and 17 and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of rape.

The 16-year-old has since been charged with three counts of rape against two girls, aged 15 and 16.

The offences are said to have happened in a stairwell leading to the Medway Council run car park on The Brook.

He was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, April 23.

The other two suspects were released on police bail.

Jack Brown, spokesman for Pentagon Shopping Centre said staff have been fully co-operating with the police investigation.
