Anti-social diplomacy wins PCSO top award

Community officer Jackie Lineham has been honoured for her efforts in combating crime.

The Medway Police Community Support Officer joined 38 other PCSOs from across the UK at the Jane’s Police Review Gala Awards, which was held in London recently.

She had reached the final stages after being nominated and was the only PCSO to reach this stage in the county.

Despite not winning overall, Jackie was presented with an award for he work with the Safer Medway Partnership, including her role in helping to resolve issues with groups involved in anti-social behaviour.

Jackie said: “It was a real honour to represent Kent Police at such a prestigious award ceremony.

“Despite not winning I am extremely proud of the work that everyone in Medway is doing to reduce anti-social behaviour.”

Area Commander for Medway, Chief Supt Steve Corbishley added: “Visiting individuals in their home, talking on a one to one basis and giving people time is invaluable.

“Jackie dedicates a lot of her energy to encourage people to resolve the issues that affect them.

“Her achievements deserve enormous praise and we are proud that her work in Medway earned her the opportunity to represent Kent Police.”
