Hendon v Maidstone United

ALAN Walker has challenged his side to "dig in" as they bid to overcome their traumatic start to life in the Ryman League Premier Division.

The Stones are currently bottom of the table with one win and five defeats from their first six games, and face a trip to early table toppers Hendon on Saturday.

Joint-manager Walker feels his squad has enough quality to put things right, but knows everyone at the club must battle as hard as they can in order to climb the table.

He said: "As a club and as a team we've really got to dig in and produce the sort of performances which won us back-to-back promotions.

"We don't know a great deal about Hendon, and although it's very early days, they've clearly made as good a start as we have a poor one.

"But all teams in this division are capable of beating each other, and that is the sort of attitude we must go into Saturday's game with."

Lynden Rowland (hamstring) is in contention for a starting berth at Hendon, but Mario McNish and Sam Tydeman are suspended.
