Maidstone United 3 Erith & Belvedere 0

THEY maybe languishing at the foot of the Ryman League Premier Division table but Maidstone United swatted aside Erith & Belvedere in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday with an almost effortless 3-0 victory.

The writing was on the wall for the visitors as early as the eighth minute when Andy Martin was given an absurdly generous amount of time to turn and volley home Aaron Lacey's cross.

The Stones dominated throughout and effectively killed the game off in the 30th miunte when Lynden Rowland scissor-kicked in a rebound from Nick Hegley's initial shot.

The Kent League side failed to make any impression in the second half and by the time Mo Takaloo scored with an overhead kick in the 65th minute the game was long over.

Jimmy Strouts went close on three occasions which would have given the scoreline an even more emphatic look.
