Stones managerial duo staying

Maidstone's managerial team of Lloyd Hume and Alan Walker are staying with the club next season – and they already know the budget they will be working with.

Hume confirmed this week that the pair have pledged their commitment to chairman Paul Bowden Brown.

Hume said: “We are 100 per cent committed to the club and have already talked to the chairman. He has always supported us in every way and now it’s time to support him.

“The players also enjoy playing for Maidstone United and it speaks volumes for the spirit there is at the club.

“The budget will be slightly reduced on last season but it’s one we can work with and we hope we can do as well.

“It’s a sign of the times and a lot of clubs will be working with less money next season.

“The chairman did well to keep things going because nobody could have predicted the problems we had during the season.”

Goalkeeper Andy Walker was named Maidstone United Supporters Club player-of-the season before last Saturday’s game against Billericay.
