A229 Linton crossroads partially blocked by crash

The A229 Linton crossroads in Loose has been partially blocked after a crash involving a cherry picker and an ambulance this morning.

The collision happened at the junction with Heath Road just after 7am, leaving the ambulance on its side.

At the time of the incident, the vehicle was responding to an emergency call and there were three staff members on board.

They, along with the driver of the cherry picker, were taken to hospital as a precaution.

So far there have been no reports of serious injuries.

Kent Police, firefighters and paramedics from Secamb attended the scene. The ambulance has been recovered.

There were long queues in both directions along Linton Hill and back towards Maidstone.

Arriva bus services are delayed on the 5, 89 and 59 routes, affecting some Cornwallis Academy students.

The road has now reopened.
