WEST Kent police have signed the lease on premises for a new town centre police station in Sevenoaks.

It will open next Spring at Epicurus House, Akehurst Lane, replacing the present station in Morewood Close, next to the magistrates' court.

Area police commander Supt Andy Dolden said: "I am delighted that the residents of Sevenoaks are finally going to have a police base in the town centre.

"It will give us a greater presence where we are needed. The new offices are large enough to support our operations in Sevenoaks and far more accessible for most people in the area"
