Alex Young, of Victoria Drive in Kings Hill, becomes first person in Kent charged with drug- driving following alleged Queen's Avenue offence

A 23-year-old man has become the first person to be charged under new drug- driving legislation.

Alex Young, of Victoria Drive in Kings Hill, was stopped and arrested in Queen's Avenue, Maidstone, on Monday, March 9.

He has now been charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of cannabis that is above the specified limit.

Young will appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Friday, June 12.
