Man arrested after 'disturbance' in Maidstone near Brenchley Gardens

Police have arrested a man after a disturbance in a busy part of Maidstone.

Officers were called to Station Road in the town, close to Brenchley Gardens, at around 5.12pm this evening.

It follows reports on social media that the area had been cordoned off following a stabbing.

Police are still at the scene carrying out enquiries and are asking witnesses to contact Kent Police quoting ref 16-996.
