Player-boss Jay Saunders remains confident Maidstone can win their last three Ryman League, Premier Division games but is not sure whether that will be enough to avoid relegation.

Maidstone face a trip to promotion-chasing Bury Town on Saturday with a derby at home to already-relegated Folkestone Invicta on Easter Monday.

Stones are seven points from safety with three games remaining, meaning they need to win and hope Hastings and Horsham fail to beat Hendon and Wealdstone respectively to keep the fight going until Monday.

Saunders (pictured) said: "The Great Escape is still on. With the character we have in the side, the boys will be going all-out to win, no matter what.

"I have no doubt that we are good enough to win the last three games but we’ll see if that is enough to keep us up."

Saunders could return to action at Bury after a niggling groin problem while Adam Burchell and Ronayne Marsh-Brown are back from suspension.
