Manager Jay Saunders has revealed players are queuing up to join the fun at Maidstone United.

Big crowds at the Gallagher Stadium are the envy of most clubs in non-league football and players want to be a part of it.

Saunders, pictured, said: "My phone is constantly ringing because everyone wants to play in front of 2,000 people.

"I’m happy with the squad I’ve got but I’m always looking to strengthen. If the right player comes along then we’ll look to do something.

"It’ll be one in, one out, if we do sign anyone. A few bosses have asked if I’m getting more money because of the crowds but that’s not the case."

Saunders is weighing up a short-term move for a winger ahead of Saturday's Ryman League Division 1 South game at Merstham, with Alex Flisher suspended and Sam Bewick doubtful with a broken nose.

The game is followed by a trip to Eastbourne Town on Wednesday night.

Saunders could feature on the bench on Saturday having made a scoring appearance as a substitute in the 4-0 League Cup win over Sittingbourne on Tuesday.
