Driver stopped in Maidstone allegedly had 50 wraps of cocaine hidden in his car roof lining

A suspected drug dealer from London is regretting make a trip to Maidstone.

Ditmir Mulkurtaj, 27, of Guardian Close in Hornchurch, has been charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply, after plain-clothes officers spotted a "suspicious vehicle" at around 7pm on Friday last.

They followed it until it stopped in Bower Lane, when they searched the car and found a blue carrier bag hidden in the interior lining of the car roof.

The bag contained 50 wraps of suspected cocaine.

Police also seized a mobile phone and, following a house search, also seized a quantity of cash as part of their inquiries.

Mulkurtaj appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance at Canterbury Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
