CRIMINALS have dealt another cruel blow to grieving relatives by stealing another 500 bronze memorial plaques from a Kent crematorium - only two months after 270 other plaques were taken.

Thieves snuck into Vinters Park Crematorium on Monday night and removed the plaques, which are believed to have a scrap value of less than 50p each.

Staff at the crematorium immediately began work to identify all the missing plaques.

The council will now write to all the families concerned but in the meantime anyone wanting to find out if their plaque has been taken can call 01622 602656 and leave their details so the council can investigate and get back to them.

If you know anything about this crime call police on 01622 690055 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – this call is free and confidential.
