It is to allow resurfacing works to be carried out by Kearns & Co Ltd.

It will take place from Monday until Wednesday (November 15), between 8pm and 6am.

The road will be closed at the junction of 149 Hermitage Lane – which is just past the Barming Station turn-off if travelling from the A20 – to the extent indicated by signs and barriers along the route.

Emergency vehicles and patients regularly use the road to get to Maidstone Hospital and a signed diversion will be put in place for traffic.

The station can still be accessed via the A20 London Road and a manned closure on either side of the works will allow ambulances to pass through.

Drivers are required to go along the A20 London Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2246 Fountain Lane and B2246 Hermitage Lane.

The detour is around 5.7 miles and takes approximately 18 minutes.
