There was a tale with a happy ending for one dog who made a bolt for freedom onto the motorway this morning.
The black, long-haired dog was spotted on the hard shoulder on the M20 at junction 5 Aylesford at just before 8am today.
As traffic slowed and police were called, one female motorist from Chatham scooped up the animal and took it to Newnham Court Veterinary Surgery in Bearsted.
The RSPCA later located the owner and have arranged for them to be reunited.
