Alice Hohler wins by-election

The Conservatives have retained a seat on Kent County Council after Alice Hohler won a by-election.

The successful candidate won the seat for the Tonbridge division by more than 56.5 per cent with 3,229 votes.

Labour candidate Emily Williams came second with 1,216 votes.

Garry Bridge (Lib Dem) secured 561 votes, Hazel Dawe received 366 votes and 337 people voted for David Waller (UKIP).

The by-election was held after the death of Cllr Godfrey Horne (Con).

Cllr Hohler's mother Sarah Hohler (Con) is Kent County Council's cabinet member for children, families and education.
