WELLING ended their three-game losing streak but had to settle for a point at mid-table Bognor Regis Town in the Nationswide Conference South on Saturday.

The Wings dominated the match for long periods but only had Steve Harper's second half equaliser to show for their efforts.

Welling should have been ahead as early as the seventh minute when Danny Kedwell's cross was volleyed over from close range by Martin Carthy.

Kedwell and Carthy both went close before the former was denied five minutes before half-time by a brilliant one-handed save from Bognor keeper Craig Stoner.

The home side caught Welling cold at the start of the second half and Ben Watson nodded them in front 40 seconds after the restart.

It could have been worse as Dan Beck dragged his shot wide on the hour.

Harper was denied by Stoner before Kedwell set up his strike partner for a simple equaliser on 71 minutes.

Welling nearly snatched all three points in stoppage-time but substitute Tony Battersby failed to convert Jamie Day's corner.

Tuesday night's home game against Thurrock will be played at Dartford's Princes Park due to the floodlight problem at Park View Road. Kick-off 7.45pm.
