Top squash night for charity

WORLD number one Peter Nicol and training partner Ben Ongbenghee, recently installed eighth in the world rankings played an exhibition match at Rodmersham Squash Club on Friday. The match, won by Peter 17-15, 15-11, 15-12, was the culmination of an afternoon and evening's fund-raising for cancer care charities.

Earlier, the two world stars conducted a squash coaching clinic for the juniors. The Essex-based pair then played a number of doubles and singles matches in 15 minute sessions against club players who had been sponsored by friends and family.

Peter also unveiled a plaque to officially open the Mary and Gordon suite, named in honour of Mary and Gordon Feakes, the original owners of the club, glass back exhibition courts and recently extended gym facilities.
