Watford v Gillingham

GILLINGHAM are in Watford this afternoon aiming to improve a woeful away record in the Championship.

With just one win on their travels so far this season, the Gills will be desperate to double that tally.

Gills make three changes to the side which a fortnight ago lost 2-0 to Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium.

New signing Mike Flynn makes his debut in midfield, Jason Brown resumes duties in goal in place of Steve Banks and injury victim Chris Hope is replaced in defence by Barry Ashby. Flynn has been handed the number 10 shirt, which used to be worn by Patrick Agyemang.

Watford will be no pushovers though with the likes of Heidar Helguson and Danny Webber providing a lethal strike force for the home side.

Victory for Gillingham will take them to the brink of safety in the Championship, although they are still in for a hard end of season slog whatever the outcome of today’s game.

Gillingham: Brown, Nosworthy, Smith, Ashby, Cox, Southall, Henderson, Flynn, Rose, Crofts, Byfield. Subs: Bossu, Hills, Roberts, Pouton, Beckwith.
