GILLINGHAM striker Darren Byfield has left the club after agreeing terms with League 1 rivals Millwall.

Gills chairman Paul Scally admitted he was prepared to re-arrange the playing budget to accommodate last season’s top scorer but was unable to compete with the Lions’ offer.
