Blackheath and Bromley Harriers were 13th and Tonbridge 19th in the National Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill Park in Mansfield

Blackheath and Bromley Harriers were 13th and Tonbridge 19th out of 160 senior men’s teams in the National Cross Country Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on Saturday, writes Alan Newman.

Michael Skinner (16.20) was the fastest for B&B on the final leg and Andrew Combs (16.08) opened for Tonbridge followed by Steve Fennell (16.35), Daniel Bradley (17.18) and Ben Cole (17.07).

Tonbridge took an exciting team gold from Liverpool Harriers in the under-20 men’s race. There were two seconds between the teams after the efforts of Ryan Driscoll (9.04), Dominic Brown (9.04) and Robbie Farnham-Rose (8.57). Tonbridge also finished 11th through Jamie West (9.06), Corey De’ath (9.18) and Sean Molloy (9.35).

At under-17 level Tonbridge were sixth, Blackheath 12th and Invicta East Kent 16th. The Tonbridge trio were Chris Cohen (9.31), Stuart Brown (9.42) and George Duggan (9.21).

The under-15s added another national title through Jamie Goodge (6.28), Thomas Kendrick (6.42) and Alasdair Kinloch (6.36). Tonbridge were 18 seconds clear of BedfordCounty with Aldershot, Farnham and District third.

Tonbridge under-13s were twelfth, one place ahead of Kent rivals Blackheath. Ewan Wood (7.48), Charlie Crick (7.07) and Dan Schofield (7.29) were the team in this event.

Nicola Taylor (9.06), Alice Wood (9.36) and Chloe Bird (10.24) brought Tonbridge’s under-20 women home in 13th overall.

The under-17 women’s team was 33rd with Sian Driscoll (9.22), Hannah Czarnowski (10.45) and Ellen Pitcairn-Knowles (10.59).

The under-15s improved to 29th - one place ahead of Invicta East Kent - through Alice Ralph (7.43), Genevieve Allan (7.39) and Eleanor Cohen (8.23).

The under-13 girls snatched team silver behind Herne Hill Harriers thanks to Vita de Munck (7.30), Kelsi Cornish (7.53) and Kathleen Faes (7.13).
