PAUL SCALLY has labelled FA charges as “nonsense” following an investigation into the transfer of Dave Graham.

The Gillingham chairman plans to appeal over the misconduct charges relating to Graham’s signing from Sheffield Wednesday in August.

The club and the player have been accused by the FA of breaching the Football Agents’ Regulations.

The FA claim that they dealt with Jon Kirtland and/or Chris McMenemy, neither of whom are authorised agents.

Mr Scally has been charged with a breach of FA rules for failing to comply with requests to attend an interview in connection with the inquiry.

“We find it complete and utter nonsense,” said Mr Scally. “It’s a total waste of time and money so we naturally plan to contest.”

Gillingham have until January 9 to respond to the FA.
