Ryman League Division 1 preview

ASHFORD Town will be looking to get their first points on the board in Ryman League Division 1 when they entertain Newport IoW at Homelands on Saturday.

Manager Tim Thorogood is looking at changing the formation for a more attacking line-up as Town have been solid defensively so far but not created much going forward.

Newport have not made the best of starts either with just the one point in the league and already an exit from the FA Cup.

In contrast, Dover Athletic travel to Bashley for the first of two times in seven days protecting a perfect record so far this season.

Whites make the journey to Hampshire again on September 10 for the FA Cup first qualifying round clash.

Manager Clive Walker is likely to have a fully fit squad available.

Striker Craig Wilkins, who has scored a goal-a-game this term, is in contention again after limping off during the victory over Ashford on Bank Holiday Monday.

Shane Hamshare is set for a return after picking up a shoulder injury in the FA Cup win at Lymington & New Milton last weekend, while Walker also has new signing Nick Bagley to call upon.

Top of the table Cray Wanderers are also looking to maintain a 100 per cent start to the league season as they entertain Walton Casuals.

The match kicks off at noon to avoid a clash with England's international against Wales in Cardiff, which starts at 3pm.

Ramsgate will hope to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season against Tonbridge Angels on Bank Holiday Monday.

Jim Ward's side lie sixth in the table and entertain Whyteleafe at Southwood on Saturday.

Kick off is at 1pm.

Tonbridge themselves travel to Dulwich Hamlet for a 1pm kick off.

Tony Dolby's side have also started the campaign well with seven points from their opening three matches.
