Linton's journey to Lord's at an end

LINTON PARK'S hopes of playing in the npower national village cricket final at Lord's were dashed by Sussex side Findon on Sunday.

In the quarter-final at Linton the Maidstone side lost by four wickets after reaching 193 for six in their 40 overs. Dan Thirkell hit a centry for the home side.

The visitors were 96 for six at one stage, but recovered to win with nine balls to spare.

The final of the competition will be played at Lord's.
